De Gagne Submits NIH R01 Application

Kudos to Jennie De Gagne and her entire team for the submission of their Subcontract Proposal to the University of Texas at Tyler on an NIH R01 application entitled "Self-management Intervention for Well-being of Black Mothers and Preterm Infants."  This proposal requests funding for a four-year period with a start date of February 1, 2018.

Abstract: Our proposed project is a four-year study to develop educational material and a mobile app as an early intervention method for black mothers with preterm (PT) infants, who may be developmentally delayed.  PI Shih-Yu Lee will lead a team from the University of Texas at Tyler in developing culture-based self-management sleep and infant development (C-SSID) education to support sleep-disturbed mothers and their PT infants from the infant’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) hospitalization through discharge home. DUSON nursing faculty will be members of the leadership team on this project to design and field test the mobile app and its corresponding website.
