Dean Broome, Stevenson and Relf Present at SQU Nursing Conference in Oman
Dean Marion Broome, Eleanor Stevenson and Michael Relf recently presented at the second international nursing conference "Transforming Nursing Future: Technology, Innovation and Collaboration" organized by the College of Nursing at Sultan Qaboos University in Oman.
Dean Broome spoke on the topic "The future of nursing: technology, education and innovation" and "Critical Apprasial, Synthesis and Integration into Practice." In her presentation, she examined the current issues, trends and innovation in nursing practice and education. She emphasized new trends in health care in general and nursing education in particular. She focused on nursing students and the innovative teaching approaches that could be implemented to ensure that the next generation of nurses will master more than basic knowledge of patient care. Eleanor Steveson spoke on the following topics: "Making a Case for EBP", "Assessing Organizations Culture and Readiness for EBP" and "Essentials of Clinical Inquiry and PICOT Questions." Michael Relf provided the closing keynote presentation entitled "The Future of Nursing: Education ,Technology and Innovation." Relf also presented at the Teaching to Transform workshop, presenting on "Teaching Clinical Reasoning" and at the I-LEAD workshop, presenting on "The Citizenship of Nursing."
