Department of Population Health Sciences Research Seminar
On Thursday, June 27 from 3:30 until 5 p.m. at the Imperial Building, Dr. Check will present ongoing and planned research that examines patterns of opioid use among clinically and demographically diverse cancer survivors. Her projects inform the development of interventions that improve the safety and effectiveness of chronic pain treatment among the growing cancer survivor population.
Devon Check, PhD is a health services researcher focused on understanding and overcoming barriers to the delivery of equitable, high-quality care for patients with cancer and other potentially life-limiting conditions. She received her PhD in Health Policy and Management from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC-Chapel Hill. Prior to joining the Department of Population Health Sciences at Duke, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Delivery Science at Kaiser Permanente Northern California.
