Kudos to Stephanie Devane-Johnson for the submission of a subcontract proposal on a UNC-CH NIH R21 application entitled "Developing a dashboard to quantify racial disparities in breastfeeding education and support." This proposal requests funding for a two-year period with a start date of Dec. 1, 2018. 

The overarching goal of this work is to mitigate racial disparities in breastfeeding. The objective of this proposal is to develop and test a Breastfeeding Disparities Dashboard that will drive future quality improvement interventions. This dashboard will 1) report metrics of racial equity in the clinical environment, 2) measure differences in processes and outcomes, using EMR data; and 3) assess patient experience of breastfeeding support and behaviors via text-messaging.
