January 8, 2019
Malinda Teague, DNP '18 and clinical instructor (CI), was recently chosen as one of six national Advocacy Scholars by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). Through this award, Teague has received funding to attend the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners' Health Policy Conference in Washington D.C. in Feb.
The conference provides sessions with government and industry experts on a variety of policy topics impacting nurse practitioners and their patients, provides advocacy skills training and includes scheduled meetings with elected officials on Capitol Hill to promote patient health through elimination of federal barriers to practice.
