DNP student Helen Fong was recently awarded an American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN) scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to active ASPAN members and is designed to provide financial assistance to post anesthesia, preanesthesia, pain management, and ambulatory nurses aspiring to enhance their abilities to contribute to the perianesthesia nursing community.

Fong was also inducted as an ASPAN fellow this past May during the organization's national conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
