Duke Department of Population Health Science Host Research Seminar

Duke Department of Population Health Science Host Research Seminar

The Duke Department of Population Health Sciences host a Research Seminar entitled "Implementation Science for Aging Research: Challenges and Considerations" with Jaime M. Hughes, PhD, MPH, MSW, on Thursday, December 19 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Imperial Building located at 215 Morris Street, Suite 210.

Evidence-based health promotion programs, including sleep and activity, can enhance older adults’ functioning and ability to age in place. As the number of older adults increases, demand for these programs is expected to rise. Using an existing, evidence-based geriatric sleep intervention, this presentation discusses challenges and considerations when pursuing implementation research within aging programs and populations.

Dr. Susan “Nicki” Hastings, Director, Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care, Durham VA & Professor of Medicine & Population Health Sciences, will be a discussant.

About Dr. Hughes: Jaime M. Hughes, PhD, MPH, MSW, works at the intersection of intervention and implementation science to design and deliver effective, scalable, and sustainable health promotion interventions for complex older adults. Her work is primarily supported by a NHLBI K12 award in implementation science. Prior to joining the Department of Population Health Sciences, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in health services research at the Durham VA.
