Duke Health Humanities Lab Hosts Chronic Health Conditions Storytelling & Writing Fall Series
The Duke Health Humanities Lab is beginning the third year of its Chronic Health Conditions Storytelling Group, led by three medical students this year. This group meets every Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. starting October 10. The purpose of the event is for those with chronic illnesses or those who know of someone with a chronic illness to create narratives to cope with the situations that come at hand with chronic illnesses. It's open to students, but faculty and staff may also attend.
In addition, Health Humanities Lab and John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute will host Expressive Writing Fall Series with John Evans every Friday beginning October 11. The six-week series will be held in Trent Hall A037 at 10:30 a.m. until November 15. Writing can be a transformative self-care tool for anyone looking to heal and develop self-awareness. Join John Evans to write about your thoughts and feelings without regard to grammar or conventions. Brunch is provided!
