Duke International Travel Policy Update: U.S. Sanctions for Burma (Myhanmar) Lifted

Duke’s Office of Export Controls shared that the U.S. Treasury Department has ended the Federal sanctions program for the country of Burma (aka Myanmar) effective October 7, 2016.  If you have specific questions or would like more information on this, please contact Duke’s Export Controls team at export@duke.edu or visit the Treasury Department’s website on the announcement at https://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/Programs/pages/burma.aspx.

The Restricted Regions List (RRL), which includes indicators where the U.S. has imposed sanctions on a particular country, has been updated to reflect that these no longer apply to Burma.
