Duke University School of Nursing's TAMS Software System Selected as Finalist for 2019 NC Tech Awards
The Duke University School of Nursing’s teaching assignment management system, TAMS, has been selected as a finalist for the NC Tech Awards Digital Transformation award category. The NC Tech Awards is North Carolina's only statewide technology awards program that recognizes innovation, growth and leadership in the tech sector and is presented by the NC TECH (North Carolina Technology Association).
In use in nearly 30 universities nationwide, TAMS is software that helps manage the complex higher education teaching assignment process from end to end. TAMS was developed by the Duke University School of Nursing and has proven to be a valuable management tool for administrators, an easy-to-use planning resource for staff and a dynamic vehicle for increased faculty engagement and communication.
“For more than 20 years, NC TECH has celebrated companies, organizations and individuals for outstanding achievement at the NC TECH Awards. As a finalist this year, Duke University School of Nursing has distinguished itself as one of the state’s innovative and emergent leaders,” stated Brooks Raiford, NC TECH’s President and CEO.
The awards process culminates with the NC TECH Awards Gala on November 21, 2019 at the Raleigh Convention Center where 800+ business, technology and public leaders from across the state will gather to celebrate the tech sector and honor the winners and finalists in each category.
“We created TAMS to solve a management challenge that most schools face,” said David S. Bowersox, associate dean for Finance and Administration at Duke’s School of Nursing. “After determining there were no other products like TAMS, we decided to create our own solution. Since developing TAMS we’ve begun licensing it to other colleges and universities with great results.”
