Two case studies among the 84 abstracts showcased at Duke Anesthesiology’s 29th Annual Academic Evening held on May 11 included authors from the Nurse Anesthesia-DNP Program. Emily Funk, assistant professor, contributed to “Awareness During a Case of Butyrylcholinesterase Deficiency: Quantitative Neuromuscular Monitoring Permits Diagnosis and Prevents Critical Care Admission” along with Daniel Plezia, DNP student, and to “Anesthetic Implications in Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood: A Case Study” with Matthew Heyes, DNP'17. Erica Harris and Judson Elliott with Duke University Medical Center also contributed to "Awareness During a Case of Butyrylcholinesterase Deficiency."
