DUSON Named NLN Center of Excellence

duke university school of nursing buildingDUSON has been named a 2021 National League for Nursing Center of Excellence, in addition to Duke University Health System. Overall, 23 nursing programs from across the country and across the academic spectrum of higher education in nursing and leading teaching hospitals and clinical sites were selected. DUSON was recognized in the category: Advance the Science of Nursing Education.

Formal recognition will be made during the 2021 NLN Education Summit at the Honors Convocation on September 25.

Since 2004, the League has invited nursing schools to apply to become a COE based on their ability to demonstrate in concrete, measurable terms sustained excellence in faculty development, nursing education research, student learning and professional development, and academic progression in nursing. Historically, a number of programs have achieved recognition in multiple categories or, once designated, have maintained their COE status through multiple award cycles.
