DUSON Spectrum Hosts Panel on Harm Reduction
What would you say if your patient told you they inject drugs or did sex work? Spectrum is hosting a panel on Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. in Pearson 1009. The panel will be on "Harm Reduction", practical strategies that health care providers can use to lessen the harms associated with high-risk behaviors and to “meet people where they are.”
Panel speakers include Lillie Armstrong, MPH, Community Overdose Consultant, Injury and Violence Prevention Branch of the Division of Public Health for the NC Dept. of Health and Human Services; Dennis Hamlet, BS, CHES, ITTS/ Jail Public Health Educator at Durham County Department of Public Health; Loftin Wilson, Rural Program Coordinator for NC Harm Reduction Coalition; and David Theurer, BSN, RN.
