DUSON Supports Tanzanian Nurse's Education, Career

joseph kilasara with jane blood siegfriedJoseph Kilasara, a nursing faculty member at Kilimanjaro Christian University Medical University-College (KCMUC0) in Moshi, Tanzania, has graduated from the University of Botswana with a masters degree in nursing as a family nurse practitioner. Kilisara spent two years in Botswana, including during COVID. The majority of his expenses were paid for by a private grant from the Mark Paul Terk Trust. He is the first Tanzanian nurse practitioner at KCMUCo and will be instrumental in developing their FNP program. Kilisara has already proven himself to be a great spokesman for the role.

We are all extremely proud of his accomplishment for nurses in the world and want to thank everyone at DUSON that has supported this process with supplies, books, and helping Jane E. Blood-Siegfried, professor, travel through the Duke financial process. This really is an historical moment for advanced practice nursing.
