Cherie Barnes joined DUSON as a dietitian clinician on July 1. She will be working with Dori Steinberg, associate professor, and Steinberg's team.

Barnes worked at the Duke Clinical Research Institute for over 15 years primarily on Phase III and IV cardiovascular trials. She returned to school to become a registered dietitian in order to focus on prevention of chronic nutrition-related diseases and make a more direct impact in peoples’ lives by working directly in the community. She completed her didactic dietetics education, dietetic internship and Master’s degree in Nutrition at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, with a research focus in nutrition neuroscience. She is excited to be a part of Nourish Study in the Duke Digital Health group where she can leverage her clinical trials experience in nutrition research that is focused on advancing healthcare interventions with technology solutions.
