DUSON Welcomes: Bishop, Allen, Della Porte
The Duke University School of Nursing welcomes Caroline BIshop, Jackie Allen and Gina Della Porte to the Center for Nursing Research (CNR)!
Bishop joined as senior clinical research coordinator with the CNR's Research Oversight and Compliance Core. Her main responsibilities include providing coordinator support for the DUSON pilot grants and new grant start-up as well as assisting with IRB queries, data transfer agreements and oversight of research staff. She comes with previous research experience at Duke, including cardio-oncology exercise trials and most recently as a clinical research coordinator with the Heart Center Cath Lab research group.
Bishop's office is located in Pearson 4147.
Allen joined as senior program analyst. Her responsibilities include REDcap proroject creation/updates and Deduce pulls of Maestro Care data. She graduated from Duke's ABSN program and has three years of hospital work as an RN. Allen worked directly with a faculty member part time on their research before moving into her current role. She has summited Kala Patthar and Mount Kilimanjaro and has visited Everest Base Camp.
Della Porte joined as the director of Research Development. Her responsibilities include working closely with RAE Leads and faculty to support development of the scientific components of grant applications. She will partner with faculty and mentors to develop and refine proposals, foster collaborations and submit proposals. Della Porte most recently served as the director of Research Development for the Department of Surgery in the Duke University School of Medicine.
