DUSON Welcomes Fishman

Duke University School of Nursing is excited to welcome Rebecca Fishman!

Fishman will join the Office of Global and Community Health Initiatives (OGACHI) on March 11 as the new Senior Program Manager for Global Academic Programs and Partnerships.

Fishman earned both her MPS in healthcare administration and a BS in human biology, health and society from Cornell University. She has six years of hospital administration experience at New York University’s Langone Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. For the last decade, she has worked in global health at the United Nations Foundation, WASH Advocates, and World Health Partners, as well as field placements with non-governmental organizations in India and Argentina. She has been a freelance international development consultant since 2014, including a role advising Sesame Workshop on their new global health Muppet Raya, in addition to work on United Nations, USAID and Gates Foundation projects, among others.

Her areas of expertise include gender; reproductive, maternal, newborn, children’s and adolescent health (RMNCAH); and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). Through these professional activities, she will bring extensive experience in project management, donor and partner engagement, global business development including grant writing and implementation, advocacy and communications. She will be located with the other members of the OGACHI team in the Rutherford Building.
