DUSON Welcomes Meza and Fox!

Duke University School of Nursing welcomes Monica Meza as MSN Clinical Placement Coordinator and Akiva Fox as Marketing and Communications Writer.

Meza joined the Clinical Placement Office on October 1. She has supported students on many levels. Most recently, Meza worked as an Assistant International Student/Scholar Advisor at Duke Visa Services. She brings over three years of clinical placement experience having previously worked as a placement coordinator at Gwinnett College in Raleigh. Prior to that role, she was a peer mentor int he Center for Student Success & Academic Counseling at the University of North Carolina. A native of Mexico, Meza earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Hispanic/Latinx studies from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She loves the outdoors and considers herself to be an avid animal lover.

Fox joined the Marketing and Communications team on October 7 and looks forward to telling the incredible stories the School has to offer. He previously worked at a local certification company, where he wrote about topics as varied as insurance, divorce and wireless technology. He grew up in Boston, and has lived in Durham since 2011. His background is in the arts, and he runs Durham's Bulldog Ensemble Theater in his spare time. Fox will be responsible for editorial writing, the Monday Update and our social media channels.
