LUNCH & LEARN: NAVIGATING FAD DIETS

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information regarding nutrition on the internet and in the media, you are not alone! Come to a Lunch & Learn presentation on Navigating Fad Diets on Thursday, March 29 from 12:30 until 1:15 p.m. in Pearson 3103 to hear this talk by Esther Granville, RD.  WebX link will be provided on the day of the event. DUSON STRONG TOURS TANZANIA

Join DUSON in meeting our goal of becoming the healthiest school of nursing in the nation.  It’s not too late to join this spring’s Tour of Tanzania – a 1,062.9-mile virtual race around Tanzania! We will visit several Global Academic and Clinical Sites from March 1 – March 31.

DUKE RUN/WALK CLUB

The Duke Run/Walk Club began on March 12, and there is still plenty of time to register! Join groups from beginner walkers all the way to advanced runners at two convenient sites at Duke, or participate independently and log your exercise to earn LIVE FOR LIFE dollars.  Register now!

STRENGTH CLASSES

Strength classes are every Thursday at DUSON! Christian Kennicott, Fitness Specialist for LIVE FOR LIFE, will be leading an all-levels, full-body strength workout on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. in Pearson 1011.  Register here.

YOGA CLASSES

Yoga classes are held at DUSON on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Pearosn 1140.  This course is designed to be accessible and beneficial to all levels of experience – from the first-time yogi to the advanced practitioner, this class seeks to meet all needs by offering modifications and instruction, posture by posture.

RELAXATION ROOM

Wednesday, March 28 from 2 until 4 p.m., come and ease your mind in the relaxation room. Taking intentional breaks can help sustain energy, enhance mood and improve your ability to cope with challenges. Visit Pearson 3103 to enjoy mandala coloring, essential oils, brain teasers and relaxing sounds and scenes.
