Faculty Members Visit Global Site in Tanzania

Faculty members Jennie De Gagne, associate professor; Jane Blood-Siegfried, professor; Brett Morgan, assistant professor; and Benjamin Smallheer, assistant professor; recently visited Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center where they had a meeting that opens many acute care and anesthesia opportunities for students at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center in Tanzania.

Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center is located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Moshi, Tanzania. The hospital and satellite health centers and clinics work in collaboration with Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College to offer educational services in an array of health care disciplines. Nurse practitioner students are assigned to a nearby community-based clinic to work collaboratively with the health care team to meet learning needs while simultaneously providing supervised care to patients with many diverse acute and chronic health conditions, many not regularly seen in the U.S.
