Faculty Spotlighted by Duke Black Think Tank

The Black Think Tank at Duke aims to foster an inclusive academic community to support hiring, retention, promotion, and advancement of Black faculty by creating a platform that provides resources, enhances scholarly prominence, fosters connection with Black students and staff, and offers opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration.

Michael Cary, associate professor, was recognized for receiving the Raymond Gavins Distinguished Faculty Award, a Samuel DuBois Cook Society award and Tolu Oyesanya, assistant professor, for the article "'Just tell me in a simple way': A qualitative study on opportunities to improve the transition from acute hospital care to home from the perspectives of patients with traumatic brain injury, families, and providers" in Clinical Rehabilitation.

Oyesanya in addition to Brigit Carter, associate dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Assistant Professors Ragan Johnson and Jacquelyn McMillian-Bohler are also included in a directory on the Black Think Tank's website.
