Faith community nursing (FCN) is dynamic and has evolved with changes in knowledge, the healthcare environment, and society.  This presentation will define the scope of professional practice, emerging trends, and impact of faith community nursing.  Faith community nurses promote whole person health across the life span using the skills of a professional nurse and provider of spiritual care.  FCN practice exemplars serve to illustrate provisions of the 2015 Code of Ethics for Nurses.  Integrated whole-person care during life transitions is examined as well as the more recent hospital-based transitional care models.  Research highlights will include nursing interventions, cost containment, cost benefits, and  clinical outcomes.
