Former DUSON Dean and Alumna Gilliss Receives Duke's Highest Honor

Catherine Gilliss, former dean of the Duke University School of Nursing was awarded Duke's highest award for service during the annual Founder's Day celebration at the Washington Duke Inn. Gilliss was featured in an article published on Duke Today entitled "Former Provost, Nursing Dean Receive Duke's Highest Honor at Founders' Day Ceremony" 

“Catherine Gilliss made a tremendous contribution to this university,” Price said during Friday’s event. “She modernized and renewed the School of Nursing for the challenges of the 21st century. And even though she is back in her native California, she will always be a Blue Devil.”
