Emily M. Funk, assistant professor, has been selected by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Board of Directors to serve as a member of the FY2022 AANA Education Committee. The AANA Education Committee reviews requirements and standards for programs of nurse anesthesia education and formulates recommendations regarding any accreditation entity recognized by the AANA. This committee also plans and conducts the annual assembly of school faculty programs. Funk last served on this committee as a student representative in 2008 when she matriculated through DUNAP. The term of service begins this August.  

Funk has also been selected to serve as chair of the Continued Professional Certification Assessment (CPCA) Standard Setting Panel by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). This panel is charged with setting the performance standard for the recently developed continued certification examination for the >41,000 nurse anesthetists.
