"I would like to nominate Tondelaya George for a DUSON Staff Recognition Award. For the second year in a row, Tondelaya willingly accepted the responsibility of coordinating the DUSON March of Dimes, Walk for Babies event. In addition to organizing a team of event planners, Tondelaya took the lead to develop a fund raising plan for the event. She is a team player, and was creative, fun, and motivating in her approach to reaching our school fund raising goal – even though the goal was aggressive and interest was waning. She spent many hours willingly working on this project in addition to her busy job, and made herself readily available to team members working on the event." ~ Diane Uzarski, chief of staff
"It is with pleasure that I nominate Charnetta Cooper, senior staff assistant for the Healthcare in Adult Populations Division. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a professional, forward-thinking team leader. With an infectious smile, Ms. Cooper is easily approachable, respectful and seeks to offer assistance above and beyond what she is expected to do. She consistently role models an enthusiastic, customer-service approach in each and every encounter with faculty, staff, students, and guests, making all who work with her feel important and appreciated. Because she brings a sense of accountability to the table, Ms. Cooper demonstrates amazing initiative and resourcefulness in getting the job done and in communicating to all team members.
Most impressive is her drive to accept challenges and learn new things that helps her and her team grow in their skill set. Her level of commitment and attention to clear communication processes are noteworthy as she purposively seeks to go beyond email – rather, she is either at your door or on the phone to provide 1:1 assistance. Finally, in keeping with our values, Ms. Cooper volunteers to assist in various classes and DUSON special events, demonstrating her versatility and dedication to our community. Feedback from various community members include rave reviews for her anticipatory planning and problem-solving that have helped special events run smoothly and professionally. We are quite fortunate to have such a delightful team leader not only within our Division, but within our School.
These and other countless contributions not only exemplify Ms. Cooper’s moral character, work ethic and professionalism, she has tightened the fabric of our community. She puts the ‘extra’ in ‘extraordinary’ and we are truly blessed to work with such a talented individual who is very deserving for consideration of this prestigious award." ~ Valerie Sabol, chair for the Division of Healthcare in Adult Populations
