Having Sakai Issues? Just Call IT
Beginning Monday, Sept. 18, Sakai support for any issue can be accessed in the same way you seek out other IT support. Our IT service desk technicians and course design team members, including new instructional technology specialist Tina Johnson, will follow the same IT service support process. Feel free to send questions or requests for help to citdl@mc.duke.edu, call 919-684-9200, or stop by the IT Service Desk in Pearson. The person who picks up your email, calls or talks with you first will either be able to help right away or will connect you with the Sakai expert best able to assist.
This new approach applies to any and all Sakai related issues, ideas, and requests. You no longer need to worry about navigating to the “right” person. This service approach applies to everyone at DUSON who uses Sakai including all faculty, part-time instructors, staff and students.
If you have a Sakai-related question or need that you have previously taken to your staff assistant and would like to continue to do so then by all means do so! If your staff assistant encounters a new issue or has a question, he or she will follow our IT support process.
A number of other improvements will be rolled out soon, including the launch of a new “DUSON Sakai Certification Program” that will recognize those with Sakai expertise and ensure all who support Sakai courses have a consistent level of knowledge. Ideas, questions, and suggestions are welcome and will help refine the approach to Sakai course support. Please contact Glenn Setliff or any member of the course design team to share your feedback.
