Hu Submits Proposal on Network Synchrony in Parkinson’s Disease

xiao huKudos to Xiao Hu, Ann Henshaw Gardiner Distinguished Professor of Nursing, and his entire team for the submission of their subcontract proposal to UCLA on their awarded NIH R01 project entitled: "The Pathophysiology of Network Synchrony in Parkinson’s Disease." This proposal requests funding for a one-year period with a start date of September 1, 2020.

The team at Duke will analyze de-identified intra-operative recordings of LFP and ECoG signals from approximate 80 patients with Parkinson’s disease during DBS implantation procedures at UCLA as well as clinical observations of patient symptoms. The goal is to discover network-level biomarkers of the pathophysiological status, effect of DBS, and the association with the outcome. The team will work together with investigators at the prime site to interpret and publish analysis results.
