IEE Holds Virtual Clinical Instructor Intensive

rising clinical event The Institute for Educational Excellence (IEE) held its 13th Annual Clinical Instructor Intensive, Rising to the Occasion: Lasting Lessons from Teaching During Change, on August 11. This year, it was offered virtually via Zoom with 92 in attendance from across the country as well as the world (Rwanda and Oman)! There were six hours of powerful learning and sharing after a warm welcome from Valerie Howard, associate dean for academic affairs. The agenda and speakers were:

  • Best Practices for Direct and Indirect Clinical Teaching- Undergraduate Students: Christina Leonard, assistant professor

  • Virtual Open Lab Time: Danett Cantey, clinical nurse educator

  • Transition from CI to Faculty: What do you need to know?: Jacqui McMillian-Bohler and Rémi Hueckel, assistant professors 

  • Balancing the Glass Ball in a Storm: Diana McNeill, of Duke School of Medicine
