Im, Chee and Postdoctoral Associate Kim Present at APHA 2018 Annual Meeting

Eun-Ok Im, associate dean for research development and regulatory affairs; Wonshik Chee, associate professor; and Sangmi Kim, postdoctoral associate; together with their research team gave six presentations at the American Public Health Association (APHA) 2018 Annual Meeting in San Diego.

Im and Kim presented a poster entitled "Characteristics of Chronic Stress Measures as Predictors for Adverse Birth Outcomes among Racial/Ethnic Groups in the U.S." that won first place for best student poster. They gave a podium presentation entitled "Recruitment and Retention Issues in a Technology-Based Intervention Study among Asian American Breast Cancer Survivors" and a roundtable presentation entitled "Maternal age patterns of preterm birth: exploring the moderating roles of chronic stress and race/ethnicity."

Im, Chee and Kim presented two posters entitled "A Technology-based Physical Activity Promotion Program and Fitbits" and "A Technology-Based Program and Social Support: Asian American Breast Cancer Survivors." They also gave a podium presentation entitled "Lessons from a Technology-Based Coaching/Support Intervention: Asian American Breast Cancer Survivors."

APHA's Annual Meeting and Expo is the largest and most influential annual gathering of public health professionals. Nearly 13,000 attendees joined attended in San Diego to present, learn and find inspiration.
