Inaugural Dean's Doctoral Student Collaboratory
To create a greater understanding of and respect for the different roles of graduates and faculty within research focused and practice-focused doctoral degrees, Dean Marion Broome recently created and hosted the inaugural Dean's Doctoral Student Collaboratory "Leading Change to Improve Patient Outcomes: The role of the doctorally prepared nurse."
This collaboratory is a leadership event for PhD and DNP doctoral students to provide the students with an opportunity to learn about negotiating a career path with newly acquired doctoral skills, be exposed to alternative career options and learn about each other's degree programs and skills sets to increase collaboration. The biannual event will create a community of scholars, where doctoral students can share ideas about research and clinical practice and also cultivate inclusion.
The event was complete with the Dean's presentation followed by faculty panelists responses and discussion.
