Interdisciplinary Surgical Colloquia for Outcomes

The Surgical Center for Outcomes Research (SCORES), the Department of Population Health Sciences, Duke School of Nursing and DCRI MSK Research would like to invite you to attend the first meeting of the Interdisciplinary Surgical Colloquia for Outcomes Research (ISCORe). The colloquium topic will be Machine Learning and will take place on Monday, March 11 at the Duke School of Nursing (room 1103) from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.

The purpose of this colloquia series is to promote interdisciplinary research around surgical outcomes between the Department of Surgery, Department of Population Health Sciences, School of Nursing and Department of Orthopedic Surgery. We will start the evening with an opportunity to informally meet and mix with colleagues from across the Health System and School of Medicine, along with heavy appetizers and drinks. This will be followed by featured presentations from:

  • Michael Cary, “Machine Learning Basics: Advice and Resources for Clinical Researchers”
  • Leila Mureebe, “Deep Learning from Clinical Data”
