Tina Johnson, an instructional designer and Sakai expert on the DUSON Educational Technology team, has graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree from Western Governors University. Johnson has been working to complete her degree for several years and, through a series of classes, certification tests and projects, finished requirements for her degree this past spring and officially graduated last week.

“This degree is important for her career in information systems,” said Glenn Setliff, director of information technology. “I’m amazed that she was able to accomplish this while working full-time and caring for her family. It was a lot of work, and I’m sure it meant many long nights and weekends.”

Johnson said that she is going to pursue a master’s degree beginning in October.

“We’re all very proud of Tina and her initiative and resilience to obtain a bachelor’s degree and certifications in Network+, Security+ and Linux in a couple of years," Carla Nichols, assistant director of information technology, said. "I look forward to seeing her next accomplishments in her IT career.”
