Koch, Student Volunteers Administer COVID Vaccine with LCHC

student volunteers covidcovid vaccine volunteerAmie Koch, assistant professor, has spent clinical time working on the Lincoln Community Health Center (LCHC) COVID Nurse Practitioner team. In January, LCHC was able to start vaccinating their clients over 75 years of age and now, are vaccinating their clients over 65 years old. To date we have administered over 600 vaccines to some of Durham’s most vulnerable. We could not have had such successful Saturday vaccine clinics without the help from our volunteers. Thank you to the many DUSON students who have volunteered!

Highlights from ABSN student Samuel Martinez about his recent volunteering: “Volunteering alongside fellow DUSON students was super easy, stress free and no drama. Everyone wanted those receiving their vaccines to feel comfortable and supported. Laughing with DUSON students, especially LCHC staff, and those receiving their vaccines will forever be in my memory.”

Please consider joining our great group of volunteers and a wonderful community health clinic, to get people of need in the Durham community vaccinated. Contact Koch or Heather Mountz with D-CHIPP for more information.
