Najla McClain, ABSN program coordinator and D-CHIPP staff affiliate, recently joined the Partnership for Healthy Durham Racial Equity Task Force. The goal of the task force is to build racial equity principles into the broader work of the Partnership to ensure all who live in Durham County have equal opportunities to be healthy. The principles include: cultivate community power and leadership; transform inequitable systems using justice and accountability; operationalize internal equity; connect our humanity; and admit language and history matter. McClain joins other university staff and faculty, community-based organizations, public health professionals, and community members on the task force.
