McConnell, Heflin Participate in Durham Dementia Conference

mitchell heflineleanor mcconnellEllie McConnell, associate professor, hosted the opening for the Dementia Inclusive Durham (DID)'s Dementia Beyond Disease, Conference III. The conference was on September 12 and titled "Building a Creative Community of Care." Durham Mayor Steve Schewel and Durham Board of County Commissioners Chair Wendy Jacobs were among the participants during the welcome session. 

After the welcome, Mitchell Heflin, associate dean for Interprofessional Education and Care, presented "Understanding Cognitive Health."

McConnell co-leads DID's Steering Committee, which recently received funding from the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration on Community Living to support implementation of DID's vision of a community that is inclusive of people living with cognitive challenges.
