Assistant Professors Jacqui McMillian-Bohler and Amie Koch were invited to present to oncology nurses in the Duke University Health System Cancer Center on November 20. McMillian-Bohler, an expert in Motivational Interviewing, and Koch, an expert in Shared Decision Making, collaborated and presented "Shared Decision-Making: Utilizing Motivational Interviewing to Shape Person-Centered Care." The goal was to prepare nurses to support individual patients and their loved ones in developing an informed plan of care that is aligned with the patients personal values, beliefs and goals.
