Message from the Dean's Office: Welcome Carmelo

We are pleased to announce that Jacqueline (Jackie) Carmelo joined our team on Monday, May 8, as Executive Assistant to Dean Broome. She will be located in 4143, Dean’s Suite.

Jackie is new to Duke and has recently relocated from Connecticut. She worked at the UCONN School of Medicine, in Graduate Medical Education, as Executive Assistant. Jackie supported the program’s faculty leadership and administrated a variety of programs, including resident and fellow wellness, a cultural competency curriculum, program accreditation and administrative committees, to name a few.  She recently held a volunteer position with the CT Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses and has a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Eastern Connecticut State University.

I appreciate you joining me in providing a warm welcome for Jackie as she joins our DUSON family.

I’d also like to extend a sincere thank you to Rhoda Ijekpa, who has temped with us in the Dean’s Office during a busy spring semester. We will miss her big smile and wish her well as she moves to a wonderful new opportunity in RTP.
