MSN Student Schmelzer Appointed to Leadership Committee for World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery
Anne Schmelzer, MSN student, was recently appointed to serve on the program committee for the cardiac neurodevelopmental outcomes track for the 8th Quadrennial World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, to be held in Washington, DC in September 2021. This is the first time a neurodevelopmental track will be offered at the World Congress.
Schmelzer is the only nurse appointed to this committee and will serve alongside cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, developmental pediatricians, neurologists and psychologists. She will help identify topics, speakers and moderators to educate all attendees about neurodevelopment and how to promote the best developmental and psychosocial outcomes in patients with congenital and acquired heart disease.
