MSN Student Worrell Presents at Southeastern Radon Meeting

MSN - Nursing & Health Care Leadership student Jane Worrell recently presented at the Southeastern U.S. Radon Stakeholders Meeting in Murfreesboro, TN. Worrell and a team from Duke University Health System presented along with experts from the Department of Health and Human Services on the work they've completed for increasing radon awareness and preventing exposure in North Carolina. As part of the project, Worrell's work was focused on community and health care provider engagement, awareness and education.
The work is a focus of the State cancer plan and radon awareness was determined to be a high priority with the prevention sub-committee of the North Carolina Advisory Committee on Cancer Coordination and Control.
