New IEE Fellow Chosen, Fellowship and Grant Round-Up

angela richard-eaglin headshotCongratulations to Angela Richard-Eaglin (21-23), assistant professor, for being selected as the 2021-2023 IEE Teaching Fellow! Richard-Eaglin will complete a project entitled “Cultural Intelligence and Bias Management for Health Professionals." She plans to develop an innovative, stand-alone three credit elective with the hopes of mitigating bias-influenced decisions in health care practices. Congratulations, Angela!

iris padilla headshotragan johnson headshotalison edie headshotIris Padilla (19-21), assistant professor, is completing her Fellowship RNs in Primary Care with the culmination of an online program including eight education modules used to enhance and educate registered nurses interested in entering into primary care. In addition, she has accepted three senior nursing students to complete the first four modules of the program. The program will be piloted this spring and shows great promise for increasing nurses in primary care.

Ragan Johnson (19-21), assistant professor, is completing her Fellowship Weighted Rubrics for grading APRN Student Work through a national survey and analysis. Johnson has had this accepted for a presentation at the upcoming NONPH and hopes to do a Teaching Conversation later in the year.

Alison Edie (20-22), assistant professor, is working on her Fellowship on the Development, Implementation, and Evaluation Of A Simulation Experience For The Perinatal Care In Advanced Practice Nursing Clinical Course. She has been very busy learning more about simulation and planning valuable simulations for her students.

IEE Grants

Richard-Eaglin is also finishing up her grant project on Cultural Intelligence Assignments in Health Professions Courses and will be presenting her results at a later date.

amie koch headshotjennie de gagne headshot Jennie De Gagne, professor, recently completed her grant on Mining Twitter to Assess Cyberincivility Among Health Professions Students. She will present her results during the April 13th Teaching Conversation.

Amie Koch, assistant professor, is working on her grant project, focusing on the Creation And Implementation Of Difficult Conversations Simulations And Trigger Videos To Enhance The Education Of Health Care Students Interprofessionally.
