Nominations Open for Emerging Leaders Program
Nominations are now open for the 2018-2019 cohort of the Emerging Leaders Program.
The goal of the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is to identify and develop Duke University School of Nursing staff by helping them prepare themselves to advance in their careers. This program was created through a collaboration between School of Nursing Human Resources and the Duke Learning and Organizational Development Office. The ELP focuses on helping participants expand understanding of their leadership capacity and develop skills that will help set the stage for future career success.
Modeled after the highly successful Duke Leadership Academy, this 12-month program will expose the cohort of DUSON emerging leaders to personal, as well as professional development opportunities. ELP participants will receive opportunities and coaching to build their individual leadership skills as well as meet with University and Duke Health senior leaders to learn from their career journeys. Each participant will work on a team project that examines an area of organizational improvement. These projects will be presented at the end of the program and are designed to demonstrate their critical thinking and problem solving skills.
The size of the cohorts for the Emerging Leaders Program will be limited to allow for personalized attention and the ability to develop strong working relationships in a team-based environment.
