NSWB Sponsors Condom Drive to Help Fight Zika

DUSON Nursing Students Without Borders (NSWB) is sponsoring a condom to drive to help fight the Zika global health emergency in Central and South American countries. Donations are being accepted until Thursday, March 10.

Zika is a mosquito-borne virus causing fetal microcephaly. The virus is transmitted by mosquitos of the Aedes genus, from mother to child during birth or possibly to the fetus during pregnancy, and possibly through blood or sexual contact. As a result, WHO has recommended that women in Central and South American countries avoid becoming pregnant.

NSWB will deliver the condoms to help women in Guatemala during their spring break. If donating condoms isn't an option, the group is also accepting donations to help purchase condoms.
