Marilyn Oermann provided the education lecture entitled "Excellence in Teaching and Scholarship: What Competencies do you need?" for the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing Lectureship series.

She was also the keynote speaker at the New Hampshire Board of Nursing Day of Discussion and New Hampshire Action Coalition Summit. Her speech presented evidence to guide teaching and assessment in nursing education.
