Oermann Wins Christine A. Tanner Scholarly Writing Award

Marilyn Oermann and coauthors Suzan Kardong-Edgren and Mary Anne Rizzolo received the Journal of Nursing Education Christine A. Tanner Scholarly Teaching Award for their article entitled "Summative Simulated-Based Assesment in Nursing Programs" published in the Journal of Nursing Education. 

According to the JNE Award Judging Committee,“With the development of the Next Generation NCLEX that is currently underway, prelicensure nursing programs will need to develop evidence-based strategies to evaluate clinical judgment. Summative simulation-based assessments could be used for this purpose and this article provides information regarding the design of valid and reliable assessments.” 

The award recognizes excellence in writing and impact of outstanding research or other scholarly works on advancing knowledge in nursing education for one article published in the journal each year.
