From the Office of the Executive Vice Dean: Humphreys Reappointed as Associate Dean

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Janice Humphreys has been reappointed to the position of Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for a three year period, July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2019. As you know, prior to the reappointment of individuals to administrative positions at DUSON, a formal review is conducted. I would like to take this opportunity to thank colleagues who provided input in this very important reappointment process.  Feedback provided by faculty, staff and students in response to a request last semester was carefully considered.

The primary function of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs is to provide oversight for all of the academic programs, ensuring their excellence and supporting the leaders of each program and unit supporting the academic programs.  The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs serves as the primary representative for Academic Affairs both internally and externally.  Colleagues provided many examples of Dr. Humphreys’ excellent leadership of Academic Affairs including bringing increased organization and stability following a period of rapid growth in programs and students. Colleagues also identified some areas to work on in the quest for continual improvement and excellence.  Dr. Humphreys will be reaching out to the Academic Team and others for discussion and planning.

I would like to thank Dr. Humphreys for her substantial leadership and contributions during her first three years of service.  Please join me in congratulating Dr. Humphreys on her reappointment.
