OGACHI Welcomes Visiting Scholar Yang

International visiting scholar, You Lee Yang, PhD, RN arrived at DUSON on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 for a one-year visit.
Yang is a Researcher at the Mo-Im Kim Nursing Research Institute, College of Nursing, Yonsei University in Seoul, Republic of Korea and will have a mentored and professional development experience working under the guidance of Eun-Ok Im.
During her time at DUSON, Yang will:
- Conduct a concept analysis on the “role transition of nurses” and review and analyze existing theories/concepts related to ‘role transitions’ of nurses based on a systematic literature review and conduct concept analysis using an integrated method.
- Develop a situation-specific theory on nurses’ role transition (theory development).
- Explore nurses’ experience of role transition and redefine the concepts and hypotheses related to nurses’ role transition.
- Construct a theoretical framework on nurses’ role transitions using an integrated approach and evaluate the framework using structural equation modeling.
- Participate in student research-related activities, including research seminars.
- Gain research experience in a federally funded research process via federally funded study by Eun-Ok Im.
- Publish at least two manuscripts in international nursing journals and present research findings at international nursing conference(s).
- Participate in a course: NURS901-Philosophy of Science & Theory Development.
In addition, she will present a one hour colloquium on global health while at DUSON. An announcement will be forthcoming in the near future.
