Our Veterans Day Salute to our Faculty and Staff
The relationship between the Duke University School of Nursing and our nation’s armed forces can be traced back more than 80 years to just prior to the beginning of World War II. Since then, DUSON has built a deep and lasting legacy with the military that distinguishes it within the nursing profession.
From playing a critical role in supporting U.S. personnel as part of the 65th General Hospital Unit in England during World War II, to welcoming the first male students at DUSON during the Vietnam War as part of the U.S. Navy Enlisted Nursing Education Program, to developing a strong presence of veterans from all branches of service within our faculty and staff ranks, and not least of all, to consistently being named one of the “Best Online Graduate Programs for Veterans,” the Duke University School of Nursing is proud of its partnership with the men and women of the United States Armed Forces.
On this Veterans Day, we salute those members of our faculty and staff who have served our nation.
