Perinatal Substance Abuse: Local Community Impact Event Hosts More Than 70 Attendees!
February 15, 2019
The Sigma Theta Tau International sponsored 2019 educational event "Perinatal Substance Abuse: Local Community Impact" recently hosted more than 70 attendees! The interactive event helped nurses at all stages learn tools and strategies to care for pregnant and parenting women with substance abuse disorder and their infants.
The event was facilitated by Hendree Jones, a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Executive Director of UNC-Horizons Program, a substance use disorder treatment program for pregnant and/or parenting women and their children; and Tina Merrill, ABSN student and student liaison, did a great job of coordinating the speaker and program.
