Perry Becomes PhD Program Coordinator

wendy perry headshotThe PhD Program is thrilled to announce that Wendy Perry will be joining us as our Program Coordinator. Perry brings to the PhD program her success as the Operations Coordinator for the HEA II, where she provided a very high level of logistic and administrative support for the overall operations. Most importantly though, she made the students feel as though they had a champion and advocate who was put there just for them!

Perry has a BA in Business Administration, an MA in Public Administration, and an MS in Healthcare Administration. She is also a graduate of the DUSON Emerging Leaders program! She came to Duke in 2008 and spent five years working with the Duke Life Flight team. She then went on to a position as a Quality Analyst/Reimbursement Specialist with Duke Patient Revenue. She came to DUSON in 2016 as a staff assistant and then moved to the HEA II team in 2018. The PhD Program students, staff, and faculty welcome Wendy with open arms.

"There are few words within the English vocabulary to express the amount of gratitude I have for Wendy Perry and for the amount of commitment she has provided to the Health Equity Academy II Scholars and program. Wendy stepped into this program role and quickly became role model, mentor, confidant and friend. The HEA II Scholars all found her to be their support system and sought her out for professional and personal support. Her meticulousness for program design and logistics increased the efficiency of the office. I am sincerely honored to have had the opportunity to work with her, to get to know her, to see her grow and develop and now to move into another role where I know she will have an incredible impact. On behalf of the HEA II Scholars and myself, thank you for your source of strength, the example you set and for just being an amazing colleague and friend." - Brigit Carter, associate dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
