PhD Student Kang Awarded Fieldwork Grant

PhD student Bada Kang was recently awarded a fieldwork grant for $5,000 to support her fieldwork activities for the Global Health Doctoral Certificate program. The award will support travel, room, supplies and other expenses related to the research experiences proposed for the Spring and Summer of 2018.

The proposed fieldwork is a pilot-feasibility study for a larger study of health disparity populations in nursing homes. The pilot study will assess the feasibility of implementing a focus-group interview protocol that will explore the unique features of preferences, needs and challenges of residents with underlying neurocognitive disorders who are low socioeconomic and/or ethnic/racial minorities.
